We were able to get a sweet deal at the St. Paul Hotel, which is a short walk from the reunion site. Rooms are $139 plus tax. Please call 1-800-292-9292 and ask for the “Mounds View H.S. 20th Reunion”.

All other hotels wanted a guarantee on the number of rooms, so we have no deals. The following is as of their websites this evening and are subject to change: Crowne Plaza Riverfront (formerly Radisson and Carousel restaurant) for $126 plus tax. Call 1-800-593-5708. The Holiday Inn (formerly Days Inn and home of the Liffey Bar) for $104 plus tax. Call 1-888-465-4329. Embassy Suites for $116 plus tax with advance purchase. Call 651-224-5400. And Hilton Garden Inn (think same place as Town Square Park/prom action) for $101 plus tax with advance purchase.

Please note that it is very helpful to have you register and pay early. The reason why is that it helps us gain visibility to the funding we have to invest in a band and other items to make the Reunion memorable. We currently have the site locked in for roughly $7,000 for facility fee and food and beverage minimum. At the $50/head that the Class responded as the best price to pay, that means we need about 140 folks to register. The faster we get that, the more fun and entertainment we can get.

We will use the month of June to track down updated emails. If you know of anyone’s email, please send it to us.

We will also be using Facebook as a communication resource.

Lastly, a website has been set up. Please see mvclassof1990.com for more information. Although pretty bare now, over the next year plus, it will become filled with updates and info. Check back often.

Venue will be the biggest challenge. Right now, we are looking at a more formal setting like Windows on Minnesota, the Metropolitan, North Oaks Country Club, etc. We are using around $50 a person ($100 a couple) as the approximate cost. We are comparing this to a night out at a decent restaurant as a good proxy.

One thing we would like to do is sell advertising space on the website to help reduce the cost to attendees. If you are interested in learning more about this, please reply.

For now, we are looking for 2 things:

1. Updated contact info for anyone you may keep in touch with.
2. Any suggestions/ideas/requests you have on where, cost, what you want involved with the reunion, etc..

We look forward to planning a great event and seeing as many of the 451 from our class as possible.
