Twitter

Are you using Twitter?

Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent messages.  People write short updates, often called “tweets”  of 140 characters or fewer.  These messages are posted to your profile or your blog, sent to your followers, and are searchable on Twitter search.

Let us get you on the list of Class of 1990 Twitter users. Just contact us and we’ll get you listed right away!

Facebook

Giving people the power to share and make the world more open and connected.

Facebook allows you to connect with your classmates in a way that a traditional blog or website just does not allow. You are encouraged to join the Mounds View High School Class of 1990 Facebook group so you can easily connect with friends.

Walk, don’t run and become a member of Facebook (free to do) and then request to join the group. If there is a 1990 alum that is not a member of this group, please invite them to join.

Information about the reunion next year will be publicized on Facebook in addition to this website and via email.

Greetings

We are excited to let you know that planning is underway for our 20 Year Reunion. We have tentatively scheduled either Friday, August 6, 2010 or Saturday, August 7, 2010 as the date. Which day we ultimately go with will depend on availability for a venue. Note, we will have a one-day event, rather than the two-day events we have done for the 10- and 15-year reunions.

We will use the month of June to track down updated emails. If you know of anyone’s email, please send it to us.

We will also be using Facebook as a communication resource.

Lastly, a website has been set up. Please see mvclassof1990.com for more information. Although pretty bare now, over the next year plus, it will become filled with updates and info. Check back often.

Venue will be the biggest challenge. Right now, we are looking at a more formal setting like Windows on Minnesota, the Metropolitan, North Oaks Country Club, etc. We are using around $50 a person ($100 a couple) as the approximate cost. We are comparing this to a night out at a decent restaurant as a good proxy.

One thing we would like to do is sell advertising space on the website to help reduce the cost to attendees. If you are interested in learning more about this, please reply.

For now, we are looking for 2 things:

  1. Updated contact info for anyone you may keep in touch with.
  2. Any suggestions/ideas/requests you have on where, cost, what you want involved with the reunion, etc..

We look forward to planning a great event and seeing as many of the 451 from our class as possible.

Amy, Julie, Ken, Lois, Jessica, Rich, Guy, Jane, Darrell
